Demand The Review and Release of Community Leader and Activist Glen Johnson Sr.!!

The Issue

Glen Johnson Sr. is a community activist, group organizer, youth and young adult mentor and currently a highly devoted American History and Law student. Glen Sr. has been incarcerated over 20+ years due to a wrongful conviction as an accomplice of a murder that landed him a 25 years to life sentence.

We, Glen's family, friends and community, would like to bring forth awareness to Glen Sr's situation to Governor Newsom, the state of California and the rest of the world and propose that the state of California Board pick up and accelerate his current appeal process to be properly reviewed. Glen has dealt with a long history of judicial misconduct and legal mis-counsel since being incarcerated that has held him behind bars for a wrongful conviction and MULTIPLE invalid theories. Our hope is that the state can advance his current appeal process and have the case properly reviewed under SB775 and subsequently dismissed to allow Glen to be released from prison and come back home to his family and community where he belongs.

Glen Sr. has not allowed the years behind bars to hold him back from doing great communal and self-improving work as both a leader and participator. He has worked with many organizations inside and outside the correctional facility to provide and assist communication and outreach for individuals inside with individuals and organizations outside the facilities. He has self organized and led groups within the facility to provide mentoring and community building for new and tenured inmates on subjects such as personal growth, history, the law(s) and many other matters. Currently Glen Sr. Is a dedicated student attending Hartnell College working towards his degree. He also assists the Ella Baker Center as an inside organizer. Glen is constantly seeking new ways to uplift and assist others in similar situations to continue to have hope regardless of their circumstance.

Certain individuals may not have seen Glen Sr. as someone worthy of a chance to live amongst the rest of society for whatever reason BUT he has a huge family and support system of friends and colleagues that very much so believe he can AND should have the opportunity to be out amongst his family and peers with the ability to continue and advance his life and communal work he is already so heavily involved in.

So again, we hope to bring this awareness of Glen Sr.'s situation to the state of California and ask that they accelerate his case to be moved forward to be reviewed and then dismissed under SB775.
Glen deserves this and we know this will not only help Glen and his situation but it will also shed light and have a positive domino effect on many other individuals who are going through a similar situation.

Thank you. Let's Bring Glen Johnson Sr. home and continue to shed light on the injustice's in the justice system's EVERYWHERE
