Most retail stores maintain gardens.  The plant species planted on these gardens can help to save endangered species that live among us. Or not. The future of the Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee (Bombus affinis) is bleak: its population has declined by 87 percent in the last 20 years and species is likely to be present in only 0.1% of its historical range. Now is the time we still can do something to help.

Maintaining populations of pollinators is of paramount importance for our food security.  We depend on them. The Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee is the first bumblebee species in the United States to be declared endangered. Protecting it will lead to the conservation of many other native pollinator species.

Here we pledge that all businesses around the world, in special in the States of Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia,  West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine keep pollinator gardens with the native species.
