Advocate for the Re-evaluation and Release of an Innocently Convicted Family Man
The Issue
This plea arises from a family torn apart by a dire situation. Our nephew, a commendable man who dotes on his children and family unconditionally, is unduly convicted of heinous crime he didn't commit. A man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, resides now behind bars. Yes, he had a past encounter with law enforcement, but he served his time, learned his lesson, and dutifully settled his debt to society. His past encounter should not automatically make him guilty.
The conviction was for a murder that occurred when he was evidently not at the scene, proving him physically incapable of having committed said act. Yet, he was condemned unjustly due to an apparent miscarriage of justice.
In America, about 2.3% to 5% of all prisoners are innocent, which means about 46,000 to 100,000 people are wrongfully imprisoned [source: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America]. Our nephew is one among them.
This petition is an invitation to re-evaluate our legal system, to bring justice to our nephew and the many possibly innocent convicts. It's a fight against wrongful convictions and the cry for rectifying system errors. Join us in being a voice for the voiceless and in bringing an innocent family man back to his loved ones. Please, sign this petition for justice.
