For over a decade, we have been parking our boat at the side of our house in Miami, but recently, we received a violation notice from the city authorities. They instructed us to park our boat out of sight, insisting that it reduces property values. Their insistence on having the boat put in a backyard or a Marina means we face the upsetting options of destructing parts of our home to park the boat in the backyard or saying goodbye to our beloved boat.

These options bear heavy personal implications, as well as financial costs. Marinas, for instance, charge fees that range from hundreds to thousands of dollars a year, which is an additional financial burden. There is a necessity to reconsider these abrupt regulations. Besides us, many residents share similar experiences and the distress.

Taking all this into account, we call for a revision of the current boat parking restrictions in Miami. This petition is directed not just for us, but also for the numerous Miami residents who find themselves in the same sudden and deeply inconvenient predicament.

Let's urge the city of Miami to rethink and amend these boat parking regulations, so homeowners like us may continue to safely and reasonably park our boats without infringing on city regulations. Please sign this petition to support our plea.
