Before the diagnosis, my daughter was a young woman full of promise, energy, and a zest for life, always surrounded by family and friends. Today, we find ourselves caught in a system that feels cold and indifferent to the needs of individuals like her and families like ours.

Our mental health system is profoundly flawed and offers little support to families dealing with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia. Funding cuts have crippled resources that were once a lifeline for people in dire need.
