The Issue

Years ago, I went through the harrowing experience of parental alienation, and seeing my daughter endure a similar fate fills me with despair. My daughter, a victim of domestic violence in Central Islip, NY, is currently incarcerated based on false accusations by her ex-partner. Instead of receiving protection and support from the system designed to safeguard victims, she finds herself hidden away behind bars, alienated from her own child.

Her ex-partner has manipulated the legal system to portray himself as the victim. He recorded her natural reactions to his ongoing abuse and used this deceptive evidence to obtain an order of protection against her. This order has been exploited to not only criminalize her but also alienate her from her child, an act that inflicts immeasurable emotional pain on both mother and child.

Domestic violence victims like my daughter should not suffer further victimization by the very system meant to protect them. This misuse of legal protections is a travesty, and it highlights the need for more scrupulous handling of such cases. The current situation not only undermines the integrity of protective laws but also reflects a deeply flawed process that allows abusers to manipulate emotional reactions for their gain.

It is crucial that we address this systemic failure and demand justice. There needs to be a thorough investigation into her case, examining all evidence and motivations without bias. Moreover, a support mechanism should be established to assist victims of abuse in navigating the legal complexities they face, preventing the misuse of restraining orders and ensuring children are not used as pawns.

My daughter’s situation is not unique. Many victims remain vulnerable because their voices are unheard and their circumstances misunderstood. Each signature on this petition brings us closer to righting these wrongs and protecting those who need it: the true victims of domestic violence.

Please sign this petition to call for her immediate release and a fair reevaluation of her case. Stand with us to ensure that no other victim is punished while the true perpetrator walks free, and to stop the cycle of parental alienation that hurts countless families. Your support can make a difference.
