Every child deserves the love, guidance, and presence of both parents whenever it is safe and appropriate. Yet far too many fathers in Kansas feel pushed aside in custody and parenting decisions, despite being loving, involved, and capable parents.

Fathers are more than financial providers  they are role models, protectors, mentors, and an essential part of a child’s emotional and mental development. Children benefit when both parents are actively involved in their lives, and no parent should be treated as less important simply because they are the father.

This petition calls for fair and unbiased custody practices in Kansas that support equal parenting opportunities, shared parenting time, and meaningful father child relationships. Courts should focus on what is truly best for the child by giving both parents equal consideration and encouraging cooperation instead of conflict.

Too many fathers face unnecessary obstacles, limited parenting time, unequal treatment, false accusations, communication barriers, or interference that damages the bond between parent and child. Children should never be used as leverage in personal disputes, and loving fathers should not have to fight endlessly just to remain active in their children’s lives.
