Advocate for Fair 50/50 Custody Laws Without Mandatory Child Support

The Issue

I, like many fathers, am committed to the wellbeing and upbringing of my children. Often, we find ourselves entangled in a complex legal system that seems engineered for our hardship rather than the best interests of our children. It pains me to say that I have spent thousands of dollars in court, only to be granted occasional weekends and a mere 30 days during the summer to spend quality time with my son.

The heartbeat of this petition beats within those shared experiences. It's about standing up for the potential for a fair 50/50  arrangement that should be considered, if both parents are safe, present, and actively bringing value to their children's lives.

This system could stand to put children first by embracing the involvement of active and devoted fathers willing to meet their children's needs independently.

This petition yearns for change—a fair, balanced child custody system that recognizes the vital role both parents play in their children's lives. A system that, instead of punishing fathers who are willing and able to contribute equally to their children's upbringing, encourages their involvement.

Let's sign this petition to urge our lawmakers to review and amend existing child custody and child support laws in favor of fair, balanced consideration. We need the law to promote the active involvement of both parents, creating a positive upbringing rhythm that our children need. Sign this petition to support equality, justice, and the right for our children to grow in a nurturing environment with both parents playing active roles. Let's ensure the system truly reflects the best interests of our children. If it is 50/50 custody, there should be no child support for either party, just both parties supporting the child on their own means, or if child support is required from the non custodial parent, then the non custodial parent get more time. That being said I think if the noncustodial parent is getting more time child support should be lessened, because if the non custodial parent is getting the child more time, him or her is having to pay the other child support even though they are having more days in the year of supporting their child.
