Moorish Americans, who live according to the Holy and Divine Instructions, are a significant part of our diverse society. They contribute to the cultural richness of our nation and deserve equal rights and protections under the law. However, they currently do not enjoy the privilege of diplomatic immunity that is granted to diplomats from foreign nations.

Diplomatic immunity is an important aspect of international law that ensures diplomats can perform their duties without fear of legal harassment from their host country. It provides protection against prosecution for certain types of actions considered as part of their diplomatic roles.

Moorish Americans, who follow a unique set of religious beliefs and practices based on ancient Moorish science principles, have been requesting recognition as a sovereign entity within the United States. This recognition would allow them to enjoy certain privileges such as diplomatic immunity.

Granting this request would not only respect their unique cultural heritage but also acknowledge their contributions to American society. It's important to note that in 2018 alone, there were approximately 200,000 self-identified Moorish Americans in the United States (US Census Bureau), indicating a substantial population deserving consideration.

We urge lawmakers and policy makers at all levels - local, state, and federal - to consider granting diplomatic immunity status for Moorish Americans living according to Holy and Divine Instructions. This will ensure they can continue contributing positively towards our society without fear or hindrance.

Furthermore, extending diplomatic immunity to Moorish Americans would uphold principles of religious freedom and equality under the law. All individuals, regardless of their religious beliefs or background, should be treated with dignity and respect before the law. The First Amendment protects and guarantees freedom of religion so as long as Members of the Moorish Science Temple Of America, follow the holy and divine instruction put forth by their prophet Noble Drew Ali, no interference should be allowed to exist.
