admitted students for a SUNY purchase campus that supports free speech not genocide
admitted students for a SUNY purchase campus that supports free speech not genocide
The Issue
On the night of Thursday May second, SUNY purchase administration arrested 70+ Purchase students for exercising their 1st amendment right to peacefully protest on the their own campus. The university police, as well as other police departments, used excessive force to do this, hospitalizing at least three students. Despite widespread student and faculty support for the student body's right to protest on campus, and for the protester's demands to be met, the administration has continued to make threats of suspension and arrest for any student that is outside in the area of this protest after midnight, despite there being no official curfew rule in place. although student protesters complied with all university demands, they were still violently arrested.
as an admitted student, please tell this administration that this behavior is unacceptable, and students' protests should be met with an open mind not violence.
