Help us Save Unibooks in South Australia!

After 80 years supplying SA universities with textbooks, Unibooks has been closed by the Adelaide University Union which will severely impact students and cause at least 80 job losses!

It would be a tragedy to lose this on campus not for profit store that provides all manner of supplies to students not just books. A growing concern is that the price of textbooks will increase if Unibooks is replaced.

We acknowledge that this is a hard time for the staff that will lose their occupations and the students that will be without this crucial part of their university life. Therefore we respect their hardship at this time.

We call on the respective authority to:

- keep Unibooks running as a not-for-profit store on campus

- at the very least explain as to why the closure

- if there is no alternative, we call on the AUU to replace Unibooks on campus with an affordable replacement
