Address Water Supply Issues in Dasmarinas City
The Issue
Growing up in Dasmarinas City, I never imagined that something as essential as water would become a luxury. Recently, when I visited my family, it was heart-wrenching to see my mother, who is already quite old and frail, battling with an inadequate water supply. Instead of enjoying her retirement, she spends her nights collecting water because the supply is pathetically available only at midnight. This is more than just an inconvenience; it's a severe disruption to the daily lives of those who call Dasmarinas their home.
Water is a fundamental human need and right, yet the residents of Dasmarinas are deprived of this necessity by PRIME WATER, the local water supplier. During the day, the water supply is nonexistent or reduced to a weak trickle, forcing people to adapt their lives around this ill-timed schedule. For working individuals and families, such a supply pattern is not just stressful but unsustainable.
PRIME WATER must address these grievances and work towards an effective solution. Other cities with similar circumstances have demonstrated that equitable and consistent water supply is achievable even with existing infrastructures through better management and investment in upgrades.
Flexible scheduling of water distribution, infrastructure improvements, and transparent communication with the citizens about water allocation plans are essential steps that PRIME WATER can take immediately. Investing in infrastructure to support an even distribution of water throughout the day is not just a solution; it's a responsibility they have towards the community.
The residents of Dasmarinas should not have to endure sleepless nights to access water. It's time for CHANGE. By signing this petition, you're calling on PRIME WATER to take immediate action and provide a reliable and reasonable water supply to the people of Dasmarinas City. Let’s return the dignity of living without water scarcity back to this community.
