The Issue

The tragic and brutal murders of Eugene Titus and Dayna-Lee Coetzee have sent shockwaves throughout our community of Atlantis. The violence that erupted in front of a school, just as children were being dismissed, is simply unacceptable and terrifying for parents, students, and residents alike. This was not just an attack on individuals, but a direct threat to the safety and security of every member of our community. It marked a heartbreaking and terrifying day for Atlantis, one that will not be forgotten until justice is served and action is taken.

Our children deserve the right to feel safe when leaving school grounds. Our community deserves to feel secure in its own neighborhood. We can no longer stand by and allow fear to take control of our lives. This recent incident is not an isolated one but part of a pattern of violence associated with Cata and Witsand Taxis that has gone unaddressed for too long.

We demand that SANTACO and the Atlantis Taxi Association take immediate and decisive action against Cata. These actions should include prohibiting Cata and Witsand Taxis from operating within Atlantis and cooperating with law enforcement to ensure a thorough investigation into these heinous acts.

Furthermore, we urge both taxi associations to work together to create a safer environment for everyone who resides and travels within our community. This includes implementing stricter vetting processes for drivers, increased security measures, and stronger collaborations with local authorities aimed at ensuring public safety.

Such measures are not just necessary; they are essential. Our community cannot and must not live in fear. It is time for those in positions of power to take responsibility and ensure that Atlantis is a safe place for all who call it home. By signing this petition, you are standing with us, demanding justice for Eugene and Dayna-Lee, and calling for an end to violence in Atlantis. Your signature could be the change our community desperately needs. Please sign and support our call for action.
