Address Unfair Usage of Terry Farrell Pickleball Courts for Town Lessons

The Issue

As a resident of Huntington, NY, I have been privileged to enjoy the recreational opportunities provided by the Terry Farrell Pickleball Courts. These courts are a valuable public resource that brings our community together and promotes physical health and wellness. However, recently, the enjoyment of this facility has been marred due to conflicts arising from town lessons.

The current lesson schedule has led to overcrowding and limited access for townspeople who wish to play on these courts. This is not only frustrating but also goes against the spirit of public resources which are meant to be accessible and beneficial for all residents.

According to data from USA Pickleball Association (USAPA), pickleball has seen an exponential growth in popularity over recent years with more than 3.3 million players in the United States as of 2019 (source: USAPA). Given this surge in interest, it is crucial that we ensure fair access to our local courts.

We propose a revision in location of town lessons so they do not monopolize court time at peak hours when many residents have free time. We believe this will alleviate overcrowding issues.

If relocation isn’t possible, we request a review of the lesson schedule to ensure it aligns with the needs of both lesson participants and townspeople.
   - Consider adjusting lesson times to minimize conflicts.

**Community Feedback Mechanism:**

   - Establish a feedback channel where residents can voice their concerns and suggestions.
   - Regularly assess the impact of lessons on townspeople and make necessary adjustments.

The Residents of Huntington and avid pickleball players.
