

Address disparities in recruitment and pay scales
The Issue
For far too long, employees like myself have faced discrimination in recruitment cadre and pay scale within our organization. Despite holding the same qualifications, I along with many others recruited through the SET program, start at an E3 scale, while our peers in positions such as JAO/JTO begin at an E1 scale. This disparity is deeply unfair and affects our morale and financial wellbeing.
The issue doesn't end there. Those of us hired as DR JAO/JTO after 2015 start with an E1 plus 5 increments, yet the pay scales of those hired before 2015 are considerably better off. Even in our first time-bound promotion from E1 to E2, post-2015 recruits like myself must wait six years, while those from earlier batches wait only four. Such inconsistencies are not only unjust but create an untenable work environment.
Our pleas have been overlooked by union leaders and those in charge, leaving us to endure significant harassment in our workplace. This ongoing disparity has a profound impact on our professional and personal lives, as we face undue financial strain and lack opportunities for fair advancement.
I urge the authorities to recognize these disparities and take immediate action to rectify them. Establishing an equitable system that ensures all employees with the same qualifications are treated equally in recruitment and promotions is essential. Introducing a standardized pay scale and promotion timeline would uphold fairness and boost the morale of hardworking employees.
