Address DACA Delays: Deliver Citizenship for Dreamers
The Issue
To My DACA Family,
I’m writing this because I know what it feels like to live with uncertainty. We’ve spent 14 years waiting, hoping, renewing, and wondering what comes next. We deserve better than living in limbo.
Recently, I met with Attorney Martinez, United We Dream, the Justice Action Center, and other advocates to talk about how we can protect DACA. One thing was clear: every decision we make has to put Dreamers first.
A lot of people have asked why we don’t just file a class action lawsuit right now. The truth is, we have to be careful. We don’t want to take a step that could put DACA at greater risk. That’s why we’re taking the time to build the strongest case possible by collecting stories, data, and evidence that show the real impact these delays have had on our lives. If the time comes to take legal action, we’ll be ready.
But this fight is about more than protecting DACA.
DACA was never meant to be a permanent solution. It gave many of us the opportunity to work, study, and contribute to the only country we’ve ever truly called home. For that, we’re grateful. But none of us should have to renew our lives every two years or wonder if a court decision will change everything overnight.
After 14 years, it’s time to stop treating Dreamers like a temporary issue. Protecting DACA is essential because hundreds of thousands of people rely on it every day. But protecting DACA alone is not enough. The real solution is for Congress to finally pass legislation that gives Dreamers a permanent pathway to citizenship.
We shouldn’t have to spend another decade wondering whether we’ll be allowed to stay in the country we’ve called home for most of our lives. We deserve certainty, stability, and the opportunity to fully belong.
That’s why I’m asking for your support.
By signing this petition, you’re sending a message to our elected leaders that 14 years of waiting is enough. We need them to protect DACA, end unnecessary delays, and finally deliver what Dreamers have been promised for years: a pathway to citizenship.
We are your neighbors, your coworkers, your teachers, your healthcare workers, your business owners, and your friends. We contribute to this country every single day. America is our home, and it’s time our laws reflect that reality.
If you believe Dreamers deserve certainty instead of constant fear and waiting, please sign this petition and share it with your family, friends, and community. Every signature reminds our leaders that we are still here, we are still fighting, and we are not giving up.
Together, we can protect DACA today while fighting for the permanent solution Dreamers have always deserved: a pathway to citizenship.
