However, on June 5, 2026, the Home Department of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir released an official notification that proscribes the JK-JAAC under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2014. This alarming decision unjustly labels a civil rights advocacy organization as a terror entity, a move that should be challenged as it suppresses democratic freedoms and blinds justice.
The JK-JAAC embodies a coalition of civil rights activists who strive to promote peace and advocate for human rights.
