The Issue

Since the installation of the roundabout at the intersection of Dundas Street and Beverly Street, our community has faced significant traffic congestion at Cambridge st turns  As a long-time resident, I've experienced firsthand the frustration and delays this has caused during all hours.

The roundabout was intended to improve traffic flow and safety; however, it has inadvertently created a bottleneck. This is particularly evident for vehicles attempting to turn onto or off of these streets, which has become both difficult and dangerous. The lack of designated turning lanes exacerbates the problem, as turning vehicles block through traffic, leading to extended queues and heightened frustration among drivers.

According to recent traffic studies, areas with properly designed turning lanes generally see a reduction in congestion and an increase in road safety. Without these lanes, the chance for accidents increases due to sudden stops and unpredictable lane changes.

By adding dedicated turning lanes, we can alleviate congestion, improve safety, and restore the intended purpose of the roundabout. Surrounding communities have successfully implemented similar changes with positive outcomes.

We call upon the local city council and traffic management authorities to assess the situation and prioritize this development. Let's work together to enhance the efficiency and safety of our roads. Please sign this petition to support the addition of turning lanes at the Dundas Street and Cambridge Street intersection.
