Read Along by Google is a fun reading app that has helped millions of students improve their proficiency in reading English, Spanish, Hindi, and many other languages.

However, more than 2 years after its launch, Read Along still does not support the Chinese language, the 2nd most spoken language across the world.

This omission is particularly unfortunate for the growing number of American students who have begun learning Chinese in recent years.  The U.S. Department of Education reported that after Spanish, Mandarin Chinese was the most popular dual-language education program implemented by individual states in 2013.

Therefore, we strongly encourage Google to add the Chinese language to Read Along as soon as possible.
