Every day, I am faced with the frustration of finding a parking spot at the Deer Park LIRR train station. As a daily commuter and college student, this daily ordeal has become an unnecessary added stress. The lack of parking not only affects my day to day routine, but also others who rely on the Long Island Rail Road for work, school, and other commitments.



Expanding the parking facilities would not only ease the daily struggles of commuters like myself but also encourage more people to consider public transportation, reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions in the area.



We urge the Suffolk County Department of Public Works and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to prioritize this issue. Exploring solutions such as building multi-level parking garages, optimizing existing spaces, or creating partnerships with nearby businesses for shared parking can offer practical resolutions to this problem.
