I am but one of the many people trying to learn Marathi. This endeavor has been a struggle due to the lack of learning resources for this language. Unfortunately, Duolingo, one of the most used language learning platforms with over 300 million users, does not currently offer Marathi as an option. Marathi is not a niche language. It is the 19th most spoken language worldwide with 83 million speakers according to Ethnologue's database. This makes it evident that the demand for Marathi learning resources is not insignificant. We urge Duolingo to recognize this need and add Marathi to their list of language courses. By doing this, they would not only be supporting those who have a personal interest in the language but also those who require this for their academic or professional lives. Please, consider this petition and sign to urge Duolingo to make Marathi language learning a reality on their platform.
