We, the undersigned, are passionate about the growth, development, and future of esports. We value the progression of esports in colleges, specifically the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) NBA 2K competition, and want to see our collegiate athletes thrive at both the college level and in their potential professional careers.

Currently, the ECAC NBA 2K competition utilizes the "Play Now" mode for its games. While this mode provides an engaging and exciting platform for competition, it does not accurately reflect the professional esports landscape for NBA 2K.

At the professional level, NBA 2K players participate in "Pro-Am" competitions, a mode that emphasizes team play, strategic decision-making, and individual skill development. The Pro-Am mode allows players to create a custom team and compete against others, mirroring the professional esports environment much more closely.

By continuing with the Play Now mode, we are not adequately preparing our collegiate athletes for the transition to professional esports. The disparity between the two modes could leave our athletes at a disadvantage when they step into the professional realm.

We believe it is essential to align the ECAC NBA 2K competitions with the professional standard. Therefore, we are advocating for a change from the Play Now mode to the Pro-Am mode in ECAC NBA 2K competitions. This change will provide our athletes with a more realistic professional experience, equip them with the skills they need to succeed at the next level, and ultimately strengthen the future of NBA 2K esports.
