Add a Planet Fitness gym in Charleston, IL
The Issue
How many times have you wished there was a Planet Fitness right here, in Charleston? How much would that change your life?
I think it would change so many.
My name is Jasmyne Woll. I currently reside in Charleston, IL, where my neighbors and I have to travel approximately 10 miles to reach the nearest Planet Fitness.
For many in our community, this distance poses significant challenges, especially for those who are on a tight budget or have limited access to transportation. Having a Planet Fitness gym close by would improve lives by making it more accessible. Physical health goals would be more realistic to achieve, as more residents would have the ability to get back and forth from the gym.
Charleston is home to a multitude of different individuals, including families, students, and professionals, all of whom value and benefit from physical health care. Planet Fitness in Charleston could drastically change lives.
Some residents do not have access to a vehicle, cannot drive to the nearest location due to gas prices, or do not have the time to make the trip to Mattoon and back throughout their busy days. Adding a Planet Fitness in our area would not only meet the exercise needs of local residents but also encourage more people to engage in regular physical activity, as the gym would be within walking distance.
During the gruesome winter months, traveling to go to the gym is much more difficult. Having a Planet Fitness in town would also help residents stay in shape during the colder months when it is less likely they desire exercise outside.
By supporting Planet Fitness in Charleston, residents could become healthier, and physical health issues may decrease, making health care better for everyone in the long run.
I encourage Planet Fitness and our local government officials to consider this opportunity for the physical well-being of the residents that make our community what it is.
