Thank you everyone! We're not far away from 5000 signatures now. Shall we go for 10,000? Can we have another round of emailing and/or sharing, and see how high we can get it in the next few days?
There are several new petitions calling for Laura Kuenssberg and/or her equally biased colleagues to go. The first ones up in my search this morning had respectively 3145, 14,847 and 16,042 signatures and they're still active so the number of complaints going in to the BBC will be equal or above the original petition when it was sabotaged, although we will never know how high the final total of that one would have been, and the BBC can claim (probably rightly) that the same people signed more than one petition so the message has been weakened.
There are also several new petitions addressed to 38 degrees asking them to cite their evidence, or telling them not to down petitions, so along with ours, they will be getting *plenty* of advice about how not to deal with controversy in the future.
What is concerning is that my search for other petitions also trawled up a lot of rubbish spouted by MPs and journalists condemning everything and everyone involved, and they are doing so in defence of Kuenssberg's biased reporting. All of them do so without having any evidence, just because someone said there were sexist comments on (or on the subject of) the original petition... somewhere online. In some benighted corners of social media, people are still discussing these as though they were news.
So let's send the petition round again, to help them find out the truth!
