Recently, Kelli Maroney's iconic "Night of the Comet" (1984)'s Cheerleader uniform was sold at the Prop Store Live Auction by someone who had the actresses uniform without her express permission.
Here's what she said about it on Facebook on July 1st, 2021:

"I'd like to congratulate the buyer of my Night of the Comet costume--you outbid me fair and square. I'm terribly sad to lose this deeply cherished piece of my past, but also very honored that this film still means so much to my fans. If the buyer is at all open to letting me try to buy it back from them, please don't hesitate to be in touch with me."

To me, this is inexcusable and morally reprehensible. Why would someone who does not own a piece of Hollywood history choose to sell said item at an auction, profiting nearly $10,000?
