Saving the Sea Turtles - Clean the environment!
The Issue
When you throw your trash into the wrong bin or not care as to where it goes you could end up hurting the Sea Turtles. Sea Turtles are an important part of our environment, especially the ocean. So it is important that we care and try to help stop the decreasing numbers of them. Sea Turtles can affect the whole food chain, which includes other animals and us. Once one part of the food chain is taken away the whole food chain can be broken. For instance if the population of the Hawksbill Sea Turtle decreases the amount of Sea Sponges will spiral creating serious damage to the chain. This is why this is a major problem that needs to be solved.
Sea Turtles have been an endangered species since the 1970’s and are still having their environment being polluted. If the turtles continue to be mistreated, it could lead to extinction, which could ruin the whole ecosystem and the food chain. Pollution is a big deal, and if people continue to pollute the ocean, Sea Turtles will continue to ingest the trash we so carelessly throw into their homes. Ingestion of plastic or sharp metals could risk death for the Sea Turtles. The way to prevent this from happening is making sure you throw the correct things in your trash and recyclable bins. If you have trash, hang on to it until you find the nearest trash bin- there is no need to throw your trash in the ocean! You can start using paper straws instead of plastic, for paper dissolves in water and plastic does not. You may not realize it, but just by doing simple tasks like this, you can be saving the Sea Turtles and giving them a better ecosystem and habitat to live in.
Sea Turtles have been affected for ages. A big act against plastic and pollution should have taken place a long time ago. Now we should stand up for Sea Turtles and all of the sea creatures who have been affected by plastic waste. The whole ocean's ecosystem depends on us; it has already been damaged for decades, centuries at that. If we don't act now then there will be consequences and the Earth will be in danger. Bringing awareness to even just the people in your home can help big time. Little by little everybody can help save the turtles and the earth. Sea Turtles and other endangered creatures are often overlooked when it comes to keeping them safe and healthy. This is an act to grab people's attention and help bring awareness to this problem.
