I, along with my family, reside in Thrissur, Kerala, India, and I bear witness to the looming danger posed by the current situation at the Mullaperiyar Dam. Our lives, along with the lives of our fellow residents, are at stake if a major disaster occurs. This is a call to those in power, the responsible officials, who have the capacity to take necessary action.

The Mullaperiyar Dam, aging and its structural integrity compromised, is a ticking time bomb if immediate action is not taken. According to studies, over 3 million people who live in the Periyar valley could be directly affected if a devastating flood happens - indeed, the entire state would face a major catastrophe. The dam has reached its Centennial and continues to raise eyebrows and concerns among hydrologists and structural engineers (source: Central Water Commission).

Do we remain bystanders until the unimaginable happens, or do we take proactive steps to safeguard our state, our homes, our lives? It is time for the authorities to prioritize our lives over bureaucracy. I urge you to act before it's too late. Prevent another major flooding disaster in Kerala. Act now, save lives.
