The Issue

15 seniors are counting on a triumphant final water polo season—a season meant to culminate in the cherished tradition of Lynbrook’s Senior Night. This isn't just a game; it's a rite of passage they deserve to share with their friends, family, and community.

Yet, a heartbreaking reality looms: their Senior Night at the Lynbrook Pool is slipping away. Why? Not because of weather or tough competition, but because of chronic mismanagement, prolonged repair delays, and a staggering lack of urgency from the school district.

This Is More Than Just a Pool Problem—It's a Crisis of Competence.
This isn't just about 15 seniors. This failure has:

  1. Forced our dedicated coaches to miss family time and other job opportunities with disruptive, late-night practices.
  2. Wrecked the schedules of countless parents and students, who are forced to make difficult, last-minute logistical sacrifices for pick-ups and drop-offs at distant pools.
  3. Disrupted various swim and waterpolo teams that rent Lynbrook to practice and nurture future Lynbrook talents
  4. Proved that the status quo is unacceptable. This pool has been breaking down year after year since 2022. In 2024, our swim team was forced into 6 AM practices elsewhere. Why is the district continuing to use a pool maintenance company that repeatedly misdiagnoses and fails to correctly fix the problem in a timely manner?

We are done with excuses. We demand accountability and efficient management now.

Take Immediate Action: Get Our Pool Fixed Before It's Too Late
The time for deliberation is over. We need swift, decisive action to restore this vital community resource and save our seniors' final season.

We demand the Fremont Union High School District immediately:

EXPEDITE the procurement of necessary repair parts.
ALLOCATE all available resources and funds to get the repair process back on track TODAY.
PROVIDE TRANSPARENCY on the exact cost and timeline. If it's a matter of funding, let us know! Our community is ready to step up with fundraising to make sure this gets done quickly.
Our Lynbrook water polo players, swimmers, and coaches deserve better. We cannot afford to lose another month—or a crucial Senior Night—to incompetence.
