Why this petition matters

Started by Michelle Beasely

This petition is intended to highlight and bring awareness to the injustices of the Justice System and those in the position of authority conceal the truth for personal gain while committing prosecutorial negligence. We are demanding that either jurisdiction hold Dante Sykes's accountable for his continuous acts of perjury while under oath. Due to Mr. Sykes cooperation with State and Federal authorities, his acts of perjury have been ignored/overlooked due to the benefit of prosecutorial gain. These acts are against the law and are an injustice to the victims and their families impacted directly or indirectly by his negligence.
In 2017, Mr. Sykes was taken into custody following the kidnapping and murder of Keyana Perkins. At that time, he denied any involvement in the incident; after questioning, DNA collection, and fingerprints he was later released. In 2018, authorities obtained a search warrant for Mr. Sykes's home and discovered he was in possession of an illegal gun, and his then girlfriend Jaclyn McCain also had a firearm registered to the home. Due to Mr. Sykes being a convicted felon he was prohibited to be in the presence of any firearms. Sykes's girlfriend was later brought in for questioning regarding Sykes usage of her vehicle the day of Ms. Perkins murder in which she denied multiple times. After authorities discovered that Ms. McCain did allow Sykes to use her car on the day Ms. Perkins was murdered, she was arrested and held without bail along with Mr. Sykes. While in custody, Ms. McCain decided to cooperate with Federal Authorities after being held for several months.
During her confession Ms. McCain disclosed that she allowed Sykes to use the vehicle; upon his return, the car was "bloody". She described how Sykes cleaned the car numerous times and he even put a dog in the trunk in an attempt to conceal any DNA of Ms. Perkins and "throw" authorities off. It was at that time Sykes explained "Spousal Privilege Law" and suggested he and Ms. McCain get married to avoid any chance of her having to testify against him. Sykes was shown the video of his wife's confession and decided to cooperate as well. Sykes eventually plead guilty to being at the scene during the crime but denied being the actual shooter of Ms. Perkins. He conducted several Proffer hearings with State and Federal authorities as well as several State and Federal Grand Jury hearings; however, he continued to deny being the shooter of Perkins along with other perjurious statements. Authorities along with the cooperation of Sykes placed two men at the scene of Ms. Perkins murder: Ryan Bacon and Dante Sykes. Both were charged with Capitol Murder; both faced the death penalty if convicted. During the investigation process, Forensic Experts examined gunshot projectile reports and determined that the shooter in Ms. Perkins murder was in fact a left-handed shooter. It has been confirmed that Ryan Bacon is right-handed; however, Dante Sykes is indeed left-handed. State and Federal authorities were informed of this discovery; however, they continued to allow Mr. Sykes to commit perjury. In another case involving Mr. Sykes, he plead guilty to shooting a woman and was sentenced to 10 years. However, when questioned during the trial of Dwayne White, Eric Lloyd, and Damien Anderson v. the State for Racketeering, Money Laundering etc. Sykes denied shooting that victim while on the stand and under oath.
It is clear that Dante Sykes has no regard to authority, does not take accountability for his actions, and is willing to do/say anything in benefit of self. He does not take into regard how his actions impact his victims, their families, and those in the community directly or indirectly. His bed of lies is upheld by State and Federal authorities who use him for prosecutorial gain while disregarding the laws for which the justice system was intended for.

WE Demand:
1. Dante Sykes be held accountable for his false testimonies
2. For the Federal authorities to expose to the family and the public who the "actual" shooter of Keyana Perkins was. (Her murder was allegedly connected to a highly publicized racketeering case involving Sykes that drew media attention. The family as well as the public deserve to know the truth).
3. For the Justice System to take accountability for having knowledge of Dante Sykes perjurious testimonies; however, chose to be neglectful and disregard the truth and the impact it had/has on so many.
