The Issue

When I was 11, I lost my grandfather to heart disease—a loss that showed me how essential access to basic health resources truly is. That experience inspired me to make sure families in Cypress and Houston don’t face preventable harm simply because they lack simple first aid supplies.

Many underserved households and shelters in our community don’t have access to basic items like bandages, antiseptic wipes, or gloves. Meanwhile, local stores and clinics often discard surplus or slightly damaged-packaged supplies that are still safe to use.

To bridge this gap, I founded AccessAid, a student-led initiative that collects surplus first aid supplies, assembles them into kits, and distributes them to those who need them most. Each kit also includes QR codes linking to short instructional videos to help recipients use the supplies safely and confidently.

By signing this petition, you help us expand partnerships, increase awareness, and secure more surplus supplies that would otherwise go to waste. Together, we can make first aid accessible for every family in Cypress and Houston.

Please sign and support this mission to keep our community safer and healthier.
