Why this petition matters

Started by kyle tackett

In today's society technology is involved in pretty much everything we do.  From house chores to feeding the family and from creating new things to saving lives.  Technology is also developing at a rapid pace.  Our devices and products get better and better every year.  But with that speed comes regulations and while they may be there for our safety for the most part, sometimes they can just get in the way.  Take Samsung's Galaxy Watch series for example.  In their latest release, The Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro now have biosensors that have the ability to not only read your heart rate but detect if you have atrial fibrillation, or AFib, an irregular often rapid heart rate that commonly causes poor blood flow.  It can be a very serious condition.  The sensors can also detect blood pressure as well as a new addition that will in the near future detect skin temperature.  The problem is the FDA will not allow Samsung to turn on the ability to use the blood pressure feature in the United States.  I am creating this petition to bring awareness to the FDA and ask them to further investigate the matter further and possibly come up with a different decision, one that allows people like myself, who own one of the Galaxy watches, to be able to use everything on the device as advertised.
