No School the Day After Halloween!

No School the Day After Halloween!
The Issue
Most families and kids are forced to stay up late due to the non-stop banging on your door or the ring of your doorbell echoing throughout your house, but that is just for the parents. Meanwhile, the children who have to wake up early the next morning are having a massive amount of fun with their friends at parties they only get to enjoy once a year.
After the trick-or-treating ends at anywhere from 11 pm to 2 am in the morning, the kids stay up for another hour or two swapping candy and then playing like normal kids/teens on a sugar rush. Once the party is over, the teens and kids are dragged home by their parents and lie in bed until about 3-4 am in their rooms, but in the next 2-3 hours, the kids are woken up by either their parents who are incredibly tired (for they were not able to go to sleep until 2 am as well) or by their screaming alarm clock who is immediately turned off by the drained kid.
So, let’s just say that the grouchy, grumpy parent was able to get the kid to school, but the pain and tiredness doesn’t end there. I have first handedly witnessed that the day after Halloween, at least three kids fall asleep in class due to their sugar crash from the night before. Also, the teachers are incredibly tired, because they were also up until 2 in the morning giving out candy, which causes them to ramble on in class, and causes even more kids to nod their head down or stare of into empty space for the duration of the class.
If you signed this petition, you would help the 5,000 plus kids in Academy School District 20 and all of the teachers and parents who dread one of the worst days of school. There are already a myriad of cities, districts, and towns who have already benefited from the fact that the day of Halloween is a no-school day, so let’s join them and boost our beloved kids minds!
Please sign this petition to insure the benefit of your fellow friends, your parents, you teachers, and any student in general. Your signature is so valuable, and I encourage you to sign to greatly benefit the education of the next generation. There are rare circumstances, and I think this one qualifies for those, were the best way to better a students education, is to let them have a day of rest instead of having them to immediately forget a priceless day of knowledge.
If Halloween happened to be on a Friday or a Saturday, school would continue as normal, for it would not make sense for two or three days after Halloween to be canceled.
Please sign this petition.
Sincerely,
Emmett Smith
