This petition will only be posted in AACC groups and Discords, meaning all the signatures will be from actual AACC students and staff.

Turning Point USA has been approved to establish a chapter at Anne Arundel Community College. AACC is a diverse and progressive campus, home to many student organizations representing LGBTQ+ students, students of color, religious minorities, and other marginalized communities. These groups, including the Genders & Sexualities Alliance and the Coalition of LGBTQ+ Students, have voiced deep concern that TPUSA will introduce racism, homophobia, and transphobia under the guise of “debate.”

Allowing a TPUSA chapter on campus does not create a space for genuine dialogue. Instead, it risks normalizing bigotry and placing vulnerable students; Black students, Muslim students, LGBTQ+ students, and others; at greater risk of harassment and harm. When discrimination is framed as just another viewpoint to be debated, it becomes easier for hatred to take root and gain legitimacy.

TPUSA is not an organization devoted to open discussion. Its history shows a pattern of fostering division and hostility on college campuses. For the safety, dignity, and inclusion of our student body, we must reject efforts to disguise hate as debate. While we have no problem with a sort-of "Republicans club" being established, we cannot allow an organization built on hatred to be established on campus. Anne Arundel Community College should remain a place where every student feels respected and valued, free from targeted intolerance.
