Abolish the caste system and end caste-based reservations in India

Abolish the caste system and end caste-based reservations in India
The Issue
To the Leaders of India, and to Every Citizen Who Believes in Equality:
We, the people of India, raise our collective voice through this petition.
For centuries, the caste system has divided us, humiliated millions, and held back the progress of our great nation. Though the Constitution gave us freedom and equality, caste-based divisions continue to live on—in our schools, in our jobs, in our politics, and in our daily lives.
When reservations were first introduced, they were meant as a temporary support system to uplift those who suffered under generations of discrimination. But today, decades later, they have turned into a permanent system of caste labels. Instead of removing caste, reservations based on caste have made it stronger.
This is not the India we dream of.
◘ We believe:
- Every Indian is equal. No one should be judged by birth.
- Opportunities should depend on need and talent, not caste.
- Poverty has no caste. Disadvantaged children from every community deserve help, not just a few, based on an outdated system.
- Unity is our strength. Caste politics divides us when we need to stand together as one nation.
◘ What we demand:
• End caste-based reservations and replace them with economic- and need-based support for the poor and disadvantaged from all backgrounds.
• Remove caste from official documents (like school forms, job applications, and IDs) so future generations grow up free from these labels.
• Launch nationwide campaigns in schools, colleges, and communities to spread the message of equality and fraternity.
• Ensure strict punishment for caste-based discrimination and violence, while encouraging social harmony.
◘ Our Dream:
• An India where a child’s future is shaped not by their surname, but by their dreams and hard work.
• An India where every citizen stands shoulder to shoulder—as equals.
An India where caste is only history, not destiny.
We, the undersigned, pledge our support to end caste divisions and build a truly equal India.
