As a citizen who does not consume any BBC content or use any of their services, I find it unjust to be compelled to pay for their services. This is especially concerning as they are planning on increasing these fees. The BBC has been established for many years and should be capable of generating its own funding through advertising or sponsorship. It is unfair that the public is forced to finance a channel that some do not even watch or listen to.

The TV license used to be free for pensioners, but now even they are expected to pay. This is unacceptable at a time when many people, including our elderly citizens, are struggling financially. According to Age UK, nearly 2 million older people in the UK live in poverty (Age UK). Imposing this fee on them only exacerbates their financial hardship.

It's time we reconsider how the BBC is funded and move towards a more equitable system where those who use and enjoy its services contribute towards its upkeep rather than imposing a blanket fee on all households regardless of usage.
