Abolish Google Play Console's Requirement for 20 Testers Prior to Production Access

The Issue

As a passionate developer, I am directly affected and frustrated due to Google Play Console's policy that obligates us to have at least 20 testers before getting into production access. This policy not only delays our work but also poses challenges for those who are new or have smaller testing teams. Even more disheartening is the 14-day waiting period after rejection, which significantly slows down the development process and pushes back updates and improvements that users need.

Today, there are over 3.3 million apps available for download on the Google Play store. These apps are created by developers across the globe, many of whom are small-scale or independent creators like myself. This policy discourages us and limits our ability to create and innovate. It's about time that this policy is reassessed, and developers are provided more flexibility and less burdening prerequisites.

I appeal to Google to reconsider this policy, to allow for faster development cycles and a more welcoming environment for smaller, independent creators, who often lack the resources for such extensive testing. Our work is due to our creativity and passion, and this should not be hindered by rigid procedural requirements.

Please sign this petition to support the removal of this policy from the Google Play Console and encourage innovation and development.
