My life took an irrevocable turn when I became a victim of false accusations under the Domestic Violence Act and the Dowry Prohibition Act. These accusations were based on biases deeply ingrained in these laws, which leaves countless men unfairly targeted and lives ruined.

It's important to stress that gender equality is not just about women but also about men. A study in India in 2014 found that nearly 53% of men who faced dowry charges were falsely implicated (National Family Health Survey).

These gender-biased laws, while originally aimed at protecting women, now sometimes facilitate malicious prosecutions. As a society, it is our responsibility to ensure laws serve justice objectively and do not open doors for misuse or vengeful tactics.

Currently, there are no stringent measures present to penalize those who make false accusations, rendering innocent men defenseless and systematically victimized. This needs to change. It's time we advocate for fair and equitable laws that acknowledge the possible victimization of men too.

The justice system needs to ensure that no individual is subjected to legal harassment and that every case is analysed with complete objectivity, irrespective of gender. It's time laws reflect the true essence of gender equality.

Revise the laws. Abolish gender bias. Help me, and countless others, reclaim justice.
