Abolish and ban the FA Association JPL Rule and stop victimising young footballers

The Issue

Young footballers (both girls & boys) from the ages of 8 years old and above are being victimised and bullied into to not being able to play for their grassroots football team on a Saturday and Sunday due the the Footballs Association’s JPL (Junior Premier League) ruling that only one player per grassroots team can be dual signed and play for both a JPL team and grassroots football team.

Years of hard work, relationships built, dedication from clubs, managers, coaches (who are all grassroots volunteers) and the mainly affected the football player themselves being let down and victimised by their own hard work and success due to a ruling that has no place in football.

Due this ruling the Football Association and all local associations are in fact failing to to keep to their own safeguarding rules and standards based on the fact that they are excluding these players.

We should at all times be encouraging, praising, and rewarding the success of all players of all abilities and not be victimising or excluding any player of any reason.

100’s if not 1000’s of young footballer across the country are going to be affected by this decision.

we need to remember:

between the age groups of U7 and u12 football is non-competitive. All leagues have a tiered system to help development and lastly your allowed to have up to 5 academy players signed to your club and also a professional academy but yet only one JPL player. Where is the consistency?

The time is to act now so the metal health, development and more importantly happiness and participation of the players excluded from grassroots football is not affected any more.

The North Kent Youth League member clubs have refused teams entry based on how many JPL players they have in their teams.

The Medway Youth League are excluding football players and if played by their grassroots football club will incur a maximum fine of £100 per team per game played. Disgusting! Especially taking into consideration grassroots football is meant to be a non profit yet the local leagues and associations are demanding this outrageous amounts

Football is an all inclusive activity and sport, it should stay this way.
