Abolish all credit card and bank account charges-The Banks should absorb the cost!

The issue

As a small family business owner, I am confronting an overwhelming financial burden that threatens our livelihood. From October 1st, my business will have to absorb $45,000 in annual credit card and bank account fees. These costs, which function as an unfair tax on small businesses, are simply unsustainable.

Small businesses across the nation serve as an economic backbone, contributing significantly to employment and local communities. However, the current system unjustly holds us responsible for the financial charges imposed by banks, essentially expecting us to shoulder costs that large financial institutions should absorb. It is unreasonable and inequitable for banks to pass on these fees to us rather than managing their costs through other means.

The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman reported that a vast majority of small businesses are struggling under the weight of these charges. We urgently need intervention to shrink these overheads, enabling small businesses to thrive rather than simply survive.

It's not just about our business; it's about fairness and sustainability for all small businesses. To make a real difference, we must stand against these charges that cripple entrepreneurship and innovation. We call for an immediate legislative action that compels banks to absorb these fees rather than passing them onto small businesses.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the vital backbone of our economy and urging policymakers to implement changes that protect small business interests. Together, we can drive policy reform.

Please sign and help us abolish unjustified credit card and bank account charges.
