Loads of people have now signed the petition, thank you all for the support. We must now use this expression of our community's view to persuade the council to change their mind. I've had responses from five of the councillors, three of which have expressed their support and, worryingly, don't feel the Council itself has debated this matter, with the work having been delegated to a working group of 4 councillors (Badcock, Garrett, Fawcett, Crick). However others still support the plans, for example one councillor replied 'The people who are being vocal are in a minority against the public who have written in in support of the project'. We have some plans but would very much welcome ideas from people who have signed the petition, so please add your thoughts by replying to this post. We are currently planning to do the following: - Write to all councillors advising them of this petition (and the physical version which is also gaining loads of signatures) and asking them for their views and their support - Write to the local press highlighting the issue and the strength of local opinion - Present the petition at the full council meeting on 18th October (if you can attend please do - visible shows of support do make a difference) - Present the petition to the Vale Planning committee in the event that the Town Council persist with their plans
