Aberdeen beach area is one of the few naturally, beautiful accessible areas we have within our City for “all” the family to use & enjoy.  We have a lovely open green area where families can relax, play & enjoy the sunny spring/summer weather without it costing them a fortune.  A free safe Victorian play park is used by families with younger children and is an alternative to the paid entertainment at the nearby entertainments & funfair complex!  There is currently sufficient parking at the beach to cater for families using these facilities.

This lovely open space is packed with family’s on holidays, weekends & also ideal for visiting family entertainments which come frequently and set up here for everybody to enjoy!

I can’t be the only person that thinks, building a monstrous football stadium on this main green area adjacent to local shops & family areas is absolutely ludicrous.  The location is also not big enough to accommodate the stadium and associated supporters car parking on match days, it will be impossible to find parking for people just trying to visit the nearby shopping centre, cinema, amusements park and beachfront because these spaces will be filled by visiting football fans cars.  It will no longer be an open green area for family’s just wanting to utilise the green & enjoy a free relaxed environment, yet still close to all the other beach facilities.

The current purpose built site adjacent to the new AWPR in Westhill, already in the construction process, is perfect to accommodate such a large building structure, without causing any obstructive problems or taking away any green family amenity areas!   There will be easy access for visiting fans, purpose built large car parking areas, dual carriageways to accommodate traffic & newly built food & beverage shops etc!  The stadium is being built on land that would otherwise lay empty!
