This petition is meant to be used as a way to stand up against wrongful tattoo discrimination. We have to start small, which is why this petition doesn't include face, hand, or offensive/inappropriate tattoos. In places where wearing long sleeves and pants all year isn't an option, people with arm tattoos run the risk of being discriminated against. People should not have to be afraid of losing job opportunities when they get a non-offensive tattoo on their arm or leg. An appropriate tattoo on a person's leg or hand does not make that person any less of worker than someone without tattoos on their arms or legs. Appropriate arm and leg tattoos are not unprofessional. The fact that people still discriminate against people with appropriate leg or hand tattoos is what is really unprofessional.  A person should be allowed to express themselves in an appropriate manner without fear of discrimination. Anyone that wants to get an appropriate tattoo on their arm or leg should not have need to add the stress of thinking about what jobs allow tattoos.  A person that spent the same 4 years in college with appropriate arm or leg tattoos is no lesser or less professional than another person that spent 4 years in college and has no tattoos. This petition will allow us (the people with or without tattoos) to stand up against this injustice.
