In an election year the host of ABC 7:30 is crucial to a fair and balanced reporting of election matters.

Laura Tingle is the standout journalist to assume a permanent hosting position because of her diligence, non partisan and balanced reporting of the facts.  Not to mention her long experience as Chief Political Correspondent for the ABC. 

The current host Leigh Sales has demonstrated a reluctance to question the behaviour and motives of conservative members of Parliament, while her treatment of progressive members of Parliament and the Opposition is seen by many as badgering and unsupported criticism. 

It’s essential that the public broadcaster provides a balanced and fair program on daily political issues when a national election is imminent.
