On Wednesday, ABC News reporter Sarina Fazan asked presidential candidate Hillary Clinton if she would be willing to undergo "neurological tests." This line of questioning is completely understandable.

Clinton has already provided documents indicating she is fit to serve as President, but she's also a woman who is capable of coughing or catching pneumonia. So, it's completely reasonable that Fazan wanted to be sure that Clinton's brain itself was in tact.

In the spirit of journalistic integrity, we must make sure all of our candidates are fit to serve. We must ask all candidates if they would undergo testing that ensures their brains are in working order.

It is therefore imperative that ABC News also asks Donald Trump to take the New York State 5th Grade Mathematics and English Language Arts exams. As a 70-year-old New Yorker, Trump will no doubt ace the test with dazzling results.

No one is questioning his intelligence.

No one is saying he's not as smart as the average 5th grader.

But he's also said and done some tremendously stupid things. Slate has counted 191 unpresidential blunders. So let's just make sure.

ABC News, in the spirit of professional journalism, please have your reporters ask Donald Trump to take the New York State 5th Grade Math and English Language Arts Exams. It's only right.
