Freeform Renew Siren for Season 4 and Beyond!
Why this petition matters
Unfortunately word has it that the show "Siren" has been cancelled on Freeform. I am writing this petition on behalf of myself and many supporters of the show. The show Siren has captivated the minds of many viewers both young and old. Myself and those who have been frequent viewers of the show feel like that 3 seasons does not give the show enough justice. We are asking the executive producers over at Freeform/ABC to give the show another chance, it truly does deserve that much.
To those who are unfamiliar with the show Siren, it is a series about a mermaid by the name of Ryn who comes on shore to find her missing sister. Along the way Ryn struggles but makes progress in adapting to the citizens of Bristol Cove including life as both a human and a mermaid. Throughout the show's three seasons we see Ryn become more and more human, though she still makes her own mistakes due to her mermaid culture.
"Siren" to me and many other supporters is a show that is about true friendship and accepting those who may not think or act the same as you. Ryn and the characters who reside in Bristol Cove a small coastal town in Washington State, all provide those greatest examples of teamwork, friendship, love, and accepting others social differences that other shows seldomly present. These values are what changes people's perception of those who struggle with social acceptances. Siren is one of my top three favorite shows that I have always enjoyed watching because of the reasons that I have outlined. This TV series has been very therapeutic for me personally, as someone who has always struggled with social acceptance. I have always looked up and relate to Ryn with her struggles in society as well. Siren teaches so many social values and the push for social change that you can't find elsewhere all that much throughout mainstream television.
Siren without a doubt deserves at least another season. It's shows like Siren that deserve life beyond season 3. I was shocked and disappointed that the show was cancelled. I am unsure how much the executive producers over at Freeform know how large of a following that "Siren" had. Siren was truly an inspiring and therapeutic show. I am asking for those both inside and outside of the "Siren" fan base to support this petition to keep the show alive past its current three seasons. Thank you!
