AARP has in the past been a strong advocate for Social Security. John Rother, the policy chief at AARP has recently stated that the Social Security system needs to remain solvent which has led to a compromise on the AARP position on Social Security. I encourage you to sign the petition. If you are a member of AARP please call AARP and drop your membership. Tell them why. If you are not a member of AARP, this still concerns you, sign the petition. This must be done, not for the seniors of today, but for our future generations of Americans.
