With a large need especially now with COVID there is a great need for experienced RT's to be able to bridge into a RN program and bring the skills and education that they have gained and use that to build a nursing career. There are currently no programs like this in California.  There are programs like this in other states like Florida for example.  A state with one of the largest economies and many colleges there should be this opportunity. Please sign this petition to encourage Respiratory Organizations and Nursing organizations to collaborate and push for this opportunity. 

This would help alleviate the large nursing shortage in our country and particularly in California.   Lets help make positive change in the current education system and provide this opportunity to California healthcare professionals who desire to become Registered Nurses.

I care about this cause because I am a Respiratory Therapist who would like to become a Nurse as well and feel like there should be a pathway to award credit to Respiratory Therapists for prior schooling and shorten the Nursing school time because of experience.  Here in California lets follow the example of states like Florida who offer these opportunities.
