A Second Chance for Shawn Sears
The Issue
Community Petition for Shawn C. Sears
We respectfully ask for mercy, compassion, and consideration for Shawn C. Sears.
Shawn is only 20 years old and was just 19 when this happened. This was his first involvement with the court system. He graduated from Bourbon County High School in 2024, earning medals, awards, and accomplishments through his hard work.
Shawn is a hardworking young man with a good job who would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He helps his grandfather, Archie, and helps with the farm. He is a beloved grandson, brother, uncle, and friend, and he is deeply loved by his nieces and nephews who look up to him.
Shawn also loves his dog, Harper, dearly and worries about who will care for her while he is away.
We understand the seriousness of the situation and are not asking anyone to ignore the law. We simply ask that Shawn’s age, character, accomplishments, family, and potential for rehabilitation be considered.
One poor decision should not have to define the entirety of a young person’s life.
We believe Shawn deserves the opportunity to learn from this experience, grow, and continue building a productive future.
Please sign and share if you believe Shawn deserves compassion, consideration, and a second chance. ❤️🙏🏻
