We, members and supporters of the Iranian community in Toronto and Richmond Hill, respectfully ask restaurant owners and local businesses to stand in solidarity with the people of Iran by refraining from displaying the flag and symbols associated with the Islamic  regime.

For many Iranians, these symbols are not merely political representations. They are painful reminders of decades of oppression, violence, imprisonment, executions, and the suffering endured by countless innocent people. Many members of our community have personally experienced loss, trauma, and displacement as a result of the actions of this regime.

At the same time, the Lion and Sun flag has become a symbol of Iranian heritage, unity, freedom, and hope for millions of Iranians around the world who dream of a democratic and peaceful future for Iran.

We respectfully encourage restaurant owners and businesses within our community to consider removing the flag and symbols representing the Islamic Regime from their establishments out of respect for the concerns and emotions of many Iranian Canadians.

This petition is not intended to create division or hostility. Our goal is to promote mutual respect, understanding, and solidarity within our diverse community while supporting the values of freedom, human dignity, and peace.
