The present voting system is broken and unless we demand a change NOTHING will ever happen.

A protest vote will give us, the people, an opportunity to express our disatisfaction with a government that lies, doesn't listen or doesn't deliver the wishes of the electorate.

The present electoral system will not change as it's not in the interest of the parties that have a strangle hold on the inevitable result to want to change it.

We need a much stronger voice to effect a change to the present system which ping pongs between two broken and proven unworthy options.

If the electorate have the means to express their ire peacefully by making a protest vote we may be able to start the change and send that all important signal that they depend on US to put that valuable 'X' in their box.

It may also encourage people to turn out and vote if they know there is an option to vote for NONE of the candidates on the paper which then waters down the egotistical belief that their parties are the only alternative options available to govern this country.

We have nothing to lose and perhaps a whole lot to gain by asking for a protest vote box on the ballot paper. This must surely be better than people spoiling their ballot papers or not turning out to vote. The result will still be the same when votes don't count. If protest votes are officially recognised and counted it would make them sit up and think?

"Don't be silent. Vote for a candidate who you trust to work hard for the things you believe in, or vote for NONE in protest".

We need this option to be made official to let those in government know we have a much stronger voice than we have at present. Otherwise nothing will ever change.
